What is Somatic Sex Education/Sexological Bodywork?

​"Sexological Bodyworkers are Somatic Sex Educators supporting individuals, couples to learn to direct their own erotic development, learn about their bodies, sex and sexuality, or work through sexual issues or concerns. We offer experiential learning opportunities that consciously access profound ecstatic and erotic states. Our teaching involves a variety of instructive modalities, including coaching in breath, sound, movement, body-awareness, boundary-setting, communication, sexual anatomy, sensate focus, massage, states of erotic trance. Our scope of practice includes genital and anal touch for education, healing and pleasure. One of the somatic realms that Sexological Bodyworkers introduce to our students is a state of arousal that is free of fantasy, unfinished emotional business, religious dogma, cultural caveats and habitual sexual behaviors.

​Somatic Sex Educators assist individuals and couples to deepen their experience of embodiment. At its heart, Sexological Bodywork is an educational approach to learning about your body and its capabilities. It is a compassionate somatic healing for your sexuality and relationships.  Sexological Bodywork is a somatic therapeutic modality that allows you to explore the stories, blocks, pleasures & desires you carry, and teaches you how to fully inhabit your body.
In a nutshell, Somatic Sex Education is:
  • an educational approach to learning about your body and its capabilities

There are many reasons we may go along with a sexual scenario that does not serve us, whether it be societal, low self-esteem, a feeling of "duty" or "obligation". Saying "yes" when the body is saying "no" can lead to unfulfilling sexual relationships, building resentment and incurring sexual trauma, even within a loving partnership. This is a very deep and personal conversation that your body may be having with you, based on valid past experiences. Through Somatic Sex Education many people have experienced:
  • How to understand the deeply held stories and messages of your body
  • Acceptance of who you are and where you are as being perfect for you at this time and place
  • Expressing yourself authentically, and discovering who you are as an erotic being

Using communication, breath, movement and touch, we can start to unravel the stories of the body, finding the joy and pleasure that is our natural state.
