It was in 2013 when I began my private apprenticeship with Jaiya (world-renowned author, Somatic Sexologist and creator of The Erotic Blueprints™)…and that was also the same year that I took my first anatomy class with Ellen Heed. In 2016 I received my certification as a Somatic Sex Educator and Sexological Bodyworker. In 2018 I was certified as a STREAM Practitioner, which included a 10-day intensive hands-on training with both Kimberly Ann Johnson and Ellen Heed. I have since continued my ongoing training and mentorship with Ellen. And for the last couple of years, I have also had the great honor and pleasure of assisting Ellen at each of her four yearly in-person trainings in Ashland, OR.

87% of women who have children end up with scar-related problems, which include incontinence, prolapse, and painful sex. Scar tissue remediation is at the cutting edge of the new skills needed in order to work effectively and holistically with birth injuries, obstetric, and gynecologic surgeries. These include colposcopies and hysterectomies, endometriosis, gender reassignment surgeries, intersex interventions and non-specific pelvic pain.

​Scars from abdominal surgery can create imbalances in the pelvis and spine. They can lead to numbness, lack of feeling, or pain at the scar or surrounding areas. Childbirth can occasionally cause scars in the pelvic floor, which can lead to pain during menstruation or sexual intercourse.

Scar tissue can be formed through infection, injury, illness, inflammation, chronic poor posture, endometriosis, radiation therapy, tearing during childbirth and surgeries (such as C-sections, episiotomies, appendectomies, ectopic pregnancy removal, abortion, cervical tears and biopsies, hysterectomy, ovarian cyst removal, gall bladder removal, etc).

  • Verbal/Cognitive Level: the story of what happened and the impact it has had on one's psyche at both conscious and unconscious levels
  • Fascial Level: how it manifests as tension patterns that affect posture
  • Boney Level: how the free movement of the bones is affected
  • Bio-chemical Level: how hormonal and dietary imbalances create both emotional and physical tension and pain
  • Somatic/Emotional Level: how what happened is stored in the tissue as emotional tension, creating postural distortion
